A Scene Of Fire in the Mansion |
An Ohio family's dream home, which took years to build, went up in flames and burn down to the ground.
Jeff and Maria Decker lived on the five-acre mansion with their sons Chase and Austin.
After working on the mansion for many years, the family was finally able to move in, only to lose the stunning home and all their belongings to a fire.
Smoke and flames as high as 30 feet were seen as the fire ripped through the 22-room stone mansion.
About 75 firefighters were called in to tackle the blaze.
The family did not have a sprinkler system and the mansion was quickly engulfed in flames, making it too dangerous for the crews to go inside.
Mr. Decker was out for lunch when the fire started.
His 44-year-old wife was on vacation in Florida, and their sons were at college.
Luckily, their dog managed to escape and was not hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
